How GNSS RTK Works

GNSS RTK technology operates by connecting with multiple satellites to determine a precise location. However, what sets RTK apart is its use of a fixed base station along with a mobile receiver (Rover RTK). The base station continuously transmits corrections because even minute errors in satellite data can lead to significant discrepancies on the ground. These corrections are calculated by comparing the signals received with known fixed coordinates. The mobile unit, which surveyors use on-site, receives these corrections, allowing it to compute positions with centimeter-level accuracy in real-time.
