The Best GPS Area Measurement device

The Best GPS Area Measurement device based on Android software with GM Spike GNSS receiver.

We chose a site with a path where you can go several times along the same route. We moved on foot, the average speed was about 5 - 6 km per hour. We made 2 measurements with a smartphone with an internal GPS/GNSS receiver. After, we repeated the test with a smartphone and a GM SPIKE GNSS receiver connected by Bluetooth. We also made 2 measurements with the GM SPIKE receiver.

The Spike GNSS receiver keeps a stable GPS/GNSS signal when passing under trees. Under the trees, the smartphone recorded the side line of the polygon worse, but the GM SPIKE receiver recorded it perfectly. Trees significantly degraded route quality when using internal GPS/GNSS receiver in a smartphone, but with the GM SPIKE receiver we had stable accuracy even under trees.

✅ The area matches 100% using GM SPIKE receiver.

❌ A smartphone without an external receiver shows the worst result.
